Veathika is a journalist currently based in the UAE and is an independent media expert & Business Analyst. She has created Dubai Dates – a video blog featuring events happening in the vibrant and multicultural city of Dubai. Be it a product launch to a business takeover, sporting event to arts, Dubai Dates covers it all. Through the audio-visual medium, Dubai Dates interviews people and covers Dubai events videos.
Prior to this, she was briefly, the Editor in Chief of Martha Stewart Weddings Middle East.
She moved to Dubai in 2006 and since then worked with Arab radio Network’s 104.4 Awaaz as a producer-presenter for the drive time show between 4 to 7 pm called Awaaz Junction. She then did weekends on Virgin Radio Dubai.
Veathika then presented and produced Smart Shopping, Iftarna and Chefs in the City for City 7 TV. She has also freelanced with ARY Digital for a weekly show called Salaam Emirates and Zee TV for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Middle East and Pakistan.
She has contributed to various magazines including Millionaire, Friday, Weekend, Tele Life to name a few. She then joined Alrroya.com, where she did business related print and video stories.
Veathika has earlier worked with India’s foremost TV channels as an anchor, producer and senior correspondent. These roles are briefly recapitulated below:
– Star News: An anchor for various bulletins which included a breakfast show called Pehli Khabar.
– CNBC: An anchor, producer and senior correspondent, hosting a breakfast show called Subah lakshmi, an afternoon stocks show called Dopahar ka karobar and an evening show called Smart Shopping.
– New Delhi Television (NDTV): An anchor, producer and correspondent hosting Raat Baaki and producing Night Out.
– Aaj Tak: A correspondent, reporting on Sports and Entertainment.
Veathika has hosted a wide range of programmes on business, retail, travel, news and lifestyle – a number of them featuring in prime time shows. |Her varied experience and abiding interest in art and culture of various regions have imparted a unique blend of creativity and versatility to her approach.
Needless to say, her strong communication skills have stood her in good stead whilst juggling with a vast repertoire of subjects and personalities in the multi-cultural milieu.
During her college years, she worked as an enthusiastic and very successful Mentor with The Genius – an institution specializing in IQ enhancement programmes in central India.
Presently she continues to work in the Media industry with a passion to scale new heights.
